Wolverine V3 pro randomly disconnecting while plugged I | Razer Insider (2025)

I bought this controller like 3 weeks ago and this week it just started randomly disconnecting despite being plugged in VIA USB-C. It does this with any usb c cable in any USB port I try, I have tried clean installing the drivers, resetting the controller to default. I do not know what else to do to fix this. Help pls.

I’m having the same problem and it’s extremely frustrating .. any fixes or do I have to return this thing?

Mine seems to work fine if I’m connected VIA the wireless dongle. I think the firmware is crashing when wired in PC mode. Just mildly educated guess.

It happens when I use the dongle as well, not really sure what to think about it. If they don’t come out with a fix soon I’ll probably just return it.A $200 controller shouldn’t have issues like this.

1000% It’s always something with Razer. Literally always.

Hey quick question...are you plugging in your cable to one of the front USB ports on your PC case? I’ve noticed that if l plug in my cableor dongle to the USB ports on my case it disconnects randomly but if I plug it into a port on the back of the motherboard I haven’t had it disconnect (yet). Not sure why that would make a difference, my 8bitdo and Xbox Elite 2 never had an issue with the frontUSB ports. Perhaps this controller is more sensitive due to it’s higher polling rate or something?

It has disconnected in both on me the case ones and the red 3.1 ports on the back. I have an 8bitdo keyboard too lol.

Just got the Wolverine V3 Pro. Having the same issue. Can’t use the thing, anyone have a fix. Tried different ports and a firmware update.Just got the Wolverine V3 Pro.

Been trying stuff out for the past hour. Turned out that I wasn’t using a USB 3.1 port and that was causing it. Fixed now, try some different ports

The fix I went with was a usb-c male to male cable. If u have a usb-c port on your pc that is.

Hey everyone, I also am having the same issue.. I got V3 TE on the release date..
I had so many disconnects while playing FPS games mostly.. I contacted RAZER and i sent mine in and they sent me a new one…ive had the new one for probably a month now and it just started happening again!!
I changed ports on my PC and ive changed my Cord as well
(to a cord that has no issues with my other controllers) The only thing i havent done is taken it off PC mode..
Other than that.. not sure what is happening, but its a shame to spend money on something and this not just happen once.. but twice now…

anyone have any solutions here

It's a design flaw. The usb c port is far too into the controller. They thinned the plastic around it but it's still too deep enough for the plug to fully insert into the port. Due to the weight of the cable and movement it disconnects even though the light stays on. These have to be recalled.

Hey Zavy,
Do you have a post or anything that shows they’ve been recalled.
I havent seen anything yet

THank you

They haven’t. What I was saying is that they should be recalled. All of them have this issue so even them giving you another will do the same thing. I think I'll just return mine for a refund. Shame too because it's the best controller I've ever used.

Ahhh gotcha!
yeah I’m talking to support now, and because I bought mine back on release date, and I’ve already sent in/received a new one.. they won’t be able to give me a refund… they can only keep sending me new ones…..

not ideal honestly, but I do agree they should recall

I'd recommend using a lighter weight cable than the one that comes with the controller.

Hi Skazbot,

I understand that you're experiencing random disconnections with your Wolverine V3 Pro controller. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Ensure that the cable connecting your controller to the console or PC is secure.
2. Update thefirmware versionfor your controller.
3. Disconnect the controller and then press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to power it down completely. After that, reconnect it and see if this resolves the issue.
4. Check the controller settings to ensure the button mappings are correct. Sometimes resetting the settings to default and then remapping can help.
5. If possible, try connecting your controller to a different PC or Xbox to see if the problem persists. This will help determine whether the issue is with the controller itself or related to a specific device.

If the problem continues, please send me the device serial number so I can look for additional workarounds. All the best!
